What is horse whippin' rock n' roll you ask?  Legend speaks of a mystical fairy tale of sweatyness passed down through the ages...

Once upon a time a little boy named Justin and a nearly equally aged but slightly taller boy named Jake decided that they were quite unhappy with the current state of so called "rock music".  What was the problem?  Well...basically everything.  The year was 2011 and rock n' roll had been all but extinguished by legions of thrift shop clothed "indie rock" hipsters singing about their dads and arguing with each other backstage about who's band had the most socially-credible reverb pedal.  These are the same people who believe that fixed-gear bicycles are the only viable form of transportation.  Tsk tsk.  Needless to say, rock had lost it's way.  Gone were the days of guitar-wiedling front men raising their arms to the sky as they prepared to blow minds and melt faces with the next world-changing riff.  Gone were the days of real songs... songs that actually made you feel something.  Songs that made you happy.  Songs that made you sad.  Songs that made you want to break stuff.  Songs that made you want to drive 150 miles an hour down the wrong side of the interstate in the middle of rush hour traffic for no apparent reason.  Songs that didn't make you feel like a FREAKING COMPUTER.  Come on... you know the feeling (it's the feeling you get 90% of the time you turn on the radio).

All that taken into consideration... the formation of the yellowbricks was just as much of a reaction to a broken down musical climate as it was the pursuing of a dream.  After countless hours in basements, living rooms, garages, more basements, a bunch of shows, several lineup changes, and a scrapped album or two, the yellowbricks finally settled on their true lineup as a trio in 2013 and are coming to a rock show near you.  Real soon like.  So keep your eyes on that "shows" page!

Oh... you say you still wanna know what horse whippin rock n roll is?  Well, you're just gonna have to come to a show and find out!
